Britney Spears is Britney Spears. She could drop an album, have a hot single, and do one performance and a tour = successful era. I personally don't care to see her all over TV because I saw her live. I see her tour performances on Youtube, as well as what other promotion she's done. She doesn't HAVE to keep doing it anymore. Get into 2009, the digital era.
She's selling good. Her singles have done good. Sure, promoting could get it more sales but I mean at this point everyone who wants to know knows she has an album out.
As for the future and "oh my god, she's gonna get boring blah blah blah", you don't know ANYTHING. You're just overreacting as usual.
