Applause being "made for radio".
When it dropped, no one expected radio to use it. It was braded a flop on release, the verses were way too weird and eccentric, the production was noisy and dated. Y'all only think it was "made" for radio as it proved itself as a radio hit because the public kept it inside the top 10 for 14 weeks.
45S featured THREE artists, two major radio heads and had tons more crossover appeal than Applause which only had pop support. And the song is about partying and getting drunk, it isn't as risky as the Navy like to think to validate it's underperform for a lead. Y'all still branding it as a buzz single too.
Long live Applongevity.

LOOOL
- You denying Applause (as the whole album) wasn't made for charts;
- These three artists excuses are weak, as shown several times Kanye's last singles (even the one with Paul) did not even close to FFS;
- More crossover appeal? Where? Triple A stations? Applause is something pop, hot ac, rhythmic, ac stations play. FFS? Maybe hot ac.
You all still trying with this "Applause was bigger" thing. No it wasn't, despite being a basic generic quick lil single.

FFS bigger than Applause and BBHMM bigger than DWUW despite 10 times less promo ?
You can keep denying, I'm leaving. Little monsters were the most delusional fanbase back in 2012 before artpop, they still are. You'll never learn
