I'm actually getting around to listening to this comeback
Love Song: the first minute of the track can be thought of as a build, it has a good atmosphere but the production isn't carrying the weight, so it's kind of boring. BUT THAT DROP. Shittiest thing I've heard in a long while. ****ing fiddle drop? Let's stop incorporating trapbeats/hiphop tropes (Looks at Come Back Home) and random instruments for the "foreignness" factor, thanks. (Glares at Talk Dirty, Problem, Worth It etc.) Please actually weave them into the production and give them a better reason for being there. Not to mention the string here is so tiny and thin and chintzy, the entire drop is as thin as air. And then 2;40's key change comes out of nowhere and makes no sense within the song's rhythmic texture. I'm so glad this wasn't the title track. It's less than demo quality and should've been left on the cutting room floor.
Only You: I LOVE the brass riff that starts the song. Should've been the main hook of the piece. I hate the hip hop beats that are sewn into this song, it should've been straight pop. I also really do think it's too fast and too big, like it should've been a midtempo/ballad piece with the brass riff as the prominent feature.
