Mark is very close to rewriting, or at least tying, a historic moment. And with a good song. I don't understand the hostility. Sure, 14 weeks is long but it's done it strongly and fair.
SYA has a crazy lead due to its gross advantage by the film/how its used and it being tied to the beloved actor's death. Because while it's a cute song, it's straight out of 2010-11 archives, and wouldn't succeed otherwise. However you see it, tribute or being used as promotion, it's working.

Thank you Rico. I personally feel like "See You Again's" sales are so strong that with its building streaming the song can overcome the airplay difference and reach #1. If you look at my projected Top 30 for next week on the Hot 100/BB 200 thread, I have SYA jumping from #10 to #1, and "Uptown Funk" falling from #1 to #2.
I think SYA's lead will be by around 15% because I expect after another weekend at the box office SYA's download will get closer to 550k. I also think UF will lead #3 "Sugar" by 10%, so UF isn't going anywhere anytime soon either.
However, the Hot 100 uses three major metrics in its formula (and one tiny metric). I have complained on the airplay thread about radio's reluctance to embrace a song selling this much, and the lack of points from this metric does negatively impact the song. However, at least for this coming week, I think SYA should be safe, I may be wrong though, as I have been before.
