YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10 CHART PREVIEW: While it's certain that Green Day will be #1 on next week's album chart, we won't have an idea of the number until at least a little later today, when we take a look at hourly sales. As for the rest of the Top 10—which will have no other debuts, by the way—here's how things are shaping up heading into the weekend:

GREEN WEEKEND: Green Day’s epic 21st Century Breakdown hit the streets today, and based on very preliminary figures from our crack (ed) retail department, the Reprise album looks on target to sell between 250-350k, with a number of caveats. That total covers, for terrestrial retailers, only sales from Friday and Saturday. Wal-Mart, whose sales week runs from Monday-Sunday, is not carrying the album because the band declined to provide a clean version. Digital retailers such as iTunes and AmazonMP3 will include three-day figures through Sunday, while Hot Topic retailers carrying the album are another wild card in coming up with an accurate guestimate. Stay tuned because we’ll know more as the weekend progresses. One thing we can guarantee: Billie Joe and the gang will bow at #1 on this week’s HITS Album Sales chart when the dust clears. Oh yeah, it’s a pretty damn good record, too. (5/15p)
