She can't hide a counterculture. The Vogue video is filled with gay men and one big homage to ball culture. She never claimed to originate the term or dance.

Everyone knows that Vogue is a type of dance. Maybe they know it primary through Madonna and the video, but still. Voguing and the whole ball room culture was very obscure to the GP because of the association of gays and AIDS in the 80's and 90's.
