The ending to Breaking Bad was kind of irrelevant too. "Ozymandias" kind of sealed the deal.

The mystery elements were definitely more compelling in the early seasons. I agree that the early character deaths weren't particularly memorable though.

My point. It was underwhelming relative to the rest of the show. They could have done more but didn't have to after 'Ozymandias'.
