I'm trying to listen to her discography in order to really appreciate the evolution as an artist and of her sound, but I'm putting off listening to Emotions for a little while because when it's over, it means I'll have to listen to Litter Box.

Emotions is too good to be putting off! And you should be listening to Music Box in order so that you can appreciate Daydream and Butterfly after, or else you will end up listening to like Music Box, Charmbracelet, and Memoirs all in a row at the end.

Emotions is easily in my top 5 Mimi albums. So underrated. And true! There's always a bright side. I will not stand for this Charmbracelet dragging, though.

Tbh though the only true drag in Music Box is Hero because every other version and live performance is better than the original. This rate will probably be the first time I will listen to the original track in forever.

Oh I will be dragging Subtle Invitation and Boy though.

If I were to judge just the instrumental of SI without her vocals I'd probably bump it up 1-2 points. I always get so irritated when the chorus comes in and I hear that mumbling whispery mess, where if she served proper full voiced vocals the song would probably be at least an 8. Or given the song a proper melody and made it more catchy and groovy. And then when she starts yelping YAAA YYYAAAAA-EEEEEE-EEEE
