It would be wholly appropriate. & lbr they're not stupid. They know about the movement, they know what it signifies...'i can't breathe'. I sort of feel like this whole era is her actually trying to use her stature and position as Millenial QUEEN to do something. Like Home. Like Dior. Like...possibly #BLM. I could be reading too much into this [probably not] but it's all well and good saying it; it's everything when you include it in your music. Music is timeless. The music your parents grew up loving can be the same songs your children or grandchildren can enjoy.
The 60s,70s,80s riots brang with it Hip-Hop and amid all the trouble music that became synonymous with that time. That spurred people on, that inspired people. It's truly not out of the question to think musicians cannot feel the same or vocalise that through their work.
They're not all stupid and pathetic like Beyonce. That fool.
