The plan is to entice/encourage people to take out subscriptions based on the promise of these exclusives, but
1. Most casual listeners, the bulk of the music purchasing audience, don't care about all these things. So we're left with us active fans.
2. Even if all active fans/superfans took out subscriptions, it wouldn't make a difference.
3. Most fans are going to just wait for the material to be ripped/leaked anyway.

Exactly.
Tidal is a hype now and artists are posting exclusives now to get subscriptions. But I dont see them doing that for the rest of their carreer. I dont even see Tidal being big in 10 years.itll fade

Tidal ain't about to stop, these artists have major control on this service since they own it, and they are getting paid (maybe not a lot but still) while Spotify would be getting all the money from people streaming BBHMM & AO (for example).
Y'all are criticizing the fact that people are illegally downloading AO because it's on Tidal, yet a lotttttt of people would still do that if the song was on iTunes, which proves that some of y'all are all about the charts.

This has nothing to do with charts! Majority of the GP has had negative response to Tidal, thus negative response to Artists releasing exclusive material to Tidal. Why would anyone want to see their fave receive backlash ?? it has nothing to do with charts

The point is that even people who want to download it legally can't do so because it's locked away on some "exclusive" service. There are people who will ALWAYS download illegally. That goes without saying. That isn't the issue here. The issue is those who want to download legally but can't.
I will use myself as an example. If the song were on itunes, I would have downloaded it immediately, without even listening beforehand. As it's on Tidal, I had to download it illegally. I don't have a Tidal subscription. Even if I wanted to get one, I wouldn't be able to as it's not available where I am right now. I also don't see myself buying it if/when it eventually gets on itunes, because after listening to it several times, I don't think I like it very much.

nnn I'm actually imagining the video being Rih, holding a lil mexican kid and start singing while pointing to the sky:
Jose, you see, this is the american dream
