I got a WP for jokingly saying 'Those things can't get married' when referring to gays, and I sent a Help Request stating I was joking and it was known I'm gay myself, and they refused to reverse it.

I've also got warned for making a joke about my own fave, and jokingly telling a friend to shut up on here, and even got the user to tell the mods I was joking and we were friends, yet they still refused to reverse it.

Homosexuality is a sensitive subject. As Athens explained, Patrick is given certain leniency because of his extraordinary contributions to the forum, which exempts him from traditional warnings. That is fair, and he will not be warned over an obvious joke on a harmless subject matter.

We know he got out the warning based on his position, hence the original point being brought up was 'if a regular member posted that it would be warned'.

All I said is that 'a joke' hasn't been an excuse in the past to get something not warned, so it's weird it is now.

You're just not understand. I get he got out that WP, because blah blah. But you guys are using 'he was just joking' as a normal excuse, when that's not the case. If a user made that post then said 'just joking' he wouldn't get out that warning. It was because his status, a joke had nothing to do with it.

The fact of the matter is that Patrick is excused from traditional WPs because of his contributions, which is fair, especially when applied to his harmless jokes. There's a difference between him and a regular user making the same joke because of Patrick's status, as a former moderator who helped control the forum.

If you're affected by Patrick's silly comments, PM him and tell him why it upsets you. Otherwise please move on because virtually no one is interested at this rate.

It's dumb) is simply not a big deal. I can't imagine anyone getting warned for that comment, unless they were always trolling Gaga. Contest matters, as does one's broader behavior on the forum.
