Though I agree with her about including artists from every part of the industry in the campaign, I can't help but to think a lot of these criticisms are a bit misguided/hypocritical.

Most people wouldn't and don't mind nameless faceless corporate big wigs ripping them off every day for other luxuries but when a collection of successful musicians wants to take control of their own works in the streaming world it's, "Stop the presses!."

I think (and I hope) that what they're trying to do is gain some traction for the app so they can give back some control to other acts and get more money to those less successful ones that don't see many coins from Spotify (because of record labels). At least, that's what I got from the promo. The reason why it just looks like a vanity project right now is because they need a-listers to give this app exposure.

It's still in the beginning stages so we'll see if it becomes a revolution or just a shortsighted business venture.

There's too much back and forth over the celebrities involved and no actual reviews of the service lol

I'm still in my 30 day free trial and the only downside I have so far is the tracks skipping when you don't play them in succession and no regular radio.

Oh, and you don't have to pay $19.99. It has a $9.99 plan for standard audio.

I couldn't agree more with her. I feel inclined to buy her album now, and at least that way she will get the money directly towards her/her team.

it sucks. Just BUY the music you like on iTunes or stream on YouTube/Spotify.

Every luxury packaged and sold to us is a "money grab".

I already buy music but I do like to stream sometimes, particularly for acts I'm casual fans of and to hear new releases to see if I want to buy them. Been a Spotifyer for 4 years now but I don't see the harm in checking out competition in a growing industry.

Besides, I didn't say I was going to keep it. It's still the beginning and they do have a few glitches (to be expected) so I might be back later.

I just think it's funny that people are reviewing celebrities instead of the app.

Girl whet? It's a music streaming service with the OPTION of paying $9.99 or $19.99 if you're an audiophile.

Something tells me most of y'all are not music buyers or even paying streamers for that matter. You're just criticizing this because of the people campaigning for it and I shouldn't be surprised because we do live in a celeb obsessed culture.

I don't like how low the audio is, but maybe that's a trade off for the quality. The exclusives as of right now aren't really doing it for me either.

This example is so bad. The iPhone was revolutionary for the industry and consumers. Tidal's focus is just giving artists and stakeholders more money. Nothing about the service itself is a game-changer for consumers.
