Girl whatever. These people have more than enough money. The fact that they're doing all of this to get even more from the average broke consumer is a bit of a mess. It's the digital age. Get over it.
I guess but what about new up and coming artists in the future that cant charge $400 for tour tickets and barely get payed from spotify? Perhaps this will trickle down and help other artists.
I just saw Madonna's performance from last night with Taylor Swift, wow how can such an untalented woman with such poor vocals last for 30 years in show business.
Yeah. The fact that all of these artists are acting like this is some super important, necessary, revolutionary movement as if it's going to cure cancer or something just to basically rape people for more coin in their already full pockets is cringeworthy.
Well hasn't Radio ALWAYS not payed Artist enough though? I mean I think it's safer to go after Spotify/Streaming because streaming is where most of their fans are getting their music from. if they can change how their fans get their music to be more properly compensated why not?
Artist will never win against their labels so it's easier for them to just go Independent where they get a bigger cut of the money. Besides, Tidal doesn't just effect our favorites this could effect artists for years and years to come since the days of Artist making millions like in the Late 90's and Mid 2000's is pretty much over.
If Tidal was so good for artists and songwriters we would see Taylor, who has a bunch of solo writing credits and expressed the concern about Spotify not paying enough, sitting somewhere there, no?
Tidal is nothing more than an ego boost for the Carters, and if it succeeds you can be sure as hell they'll reference how much they 'changed' things with it in their songs
Anyways, why is Madead there? It's not like she will get any royalties from streaming, nobody listens to her "iconic" catalog according to what I've read here.
