Hey guys, since Tidal will have HD music videos...do you think this will be how we'll finally get Bad Romance, Paparazzi, Poker Face, LoveGame, Just Dance, Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say), and Beautiful, Dirty, Rich, in HD?

Yeah her music is there but in the same way it is on Spotify, it's just there because her rights have been bought to Interescope or something. Ah, I see. I like the idea of it because it (seemingly) tries to pay artists a more fair cut (and because of the lossless audio (which is a difference to me) option), but $20 a month is too much for this poor college student. But I have all of Gaga's physical CDs and I've ripped them all in Apple Lossless, so I listen to her lossless music anyways as it is.

Exactly sis don't let them fool you: lossless quality = CD quality, you don't need no expensive streaming service subscription. Besides iTunes' .m4a (aac) quality is much more than enough

Would probably depend whether they were ever shot in HD. I'd die for HD copies though.
And on the whole lossless vs. MP3 - can the ear even tell the difference or are we just subject to the placebo effect?

I personally feel like I can tell - this is especially noticeable with songs I listen to often (AKA Gaga's discography) - but technically I guess it could just be the placebo effect.

It depends: if you compare a 128kbps .mp3 vs CD quality it is noticeable, but if you start comparing 320kbps .mp3 or iTunes purchases vs CD quality I don't think anyone would notice

I'm gonna give the 30 day trial a go on April 1 (so I have the entire month of April), so I'll post in here if they appear to be HD or not then.
It wouldn't be impossible to have her old videos in HD tho. I'm sure they were shot in 35 mm film or at least with HD cameras. It would only take to retransfer them in HD from the original masters, that's how films from decades ago are being re-released in Blu-ray. On the other hand we have evidence some of them already exist because they've been aired on HD music video channels such as Palladia or MTVHD iirc.
