8 Mile soundtrack really? If I'm not mistaken Prince did it first with Purple Rain and its soundtrack, minus the song.
Jennifer Lopez was a rare feat as she hit #1 with a full-fledged studio album that had nothing to do with her film. It wasn't The Wedding Planner soundtrack. It was an actual album separate from the film. She was the first artist able to hit #1 at the box office with the film The Wedding Planner and hit #1 with the studio album, J.Lo, simultaneously in the same week.
No one had did it before and no one has done this to date yet, besides her of course.
