Have any of the people complaining actually tried Tidal? Take the free trial. I think you may like it more than you want to. Spotify imo looks amateur compared to what I've used so far of Tidal. I may purchase the $10 version. This is good competition for Spotify so, hopefully they both fight each other and the prices overall get lower on both services.

Piracy is becoming outdated, because the form of downloading stuff onto your devices is becoming outdated. If Spotify removes the free option it may lose popularity for a little while, but overall people will get with the program. People aren't gonna completely stop using Streaming period, this is 2015. Just as people are having absolutely no free option to stream TV & Movies with Netflix, it'll eventually crossover to music. Literally every single Streaming service except for Spotify already doesn't have a free option. Spotify isn't powerful enough to stop people from Streaming, lol.

iTunes raised the price of MP3's from 99c to $1.29 in 2009, and still rose in sales for 4 years. It's economics.
