I thought there was an ad and then they picked 5 girls and only 1 member was replaced.

That's not what I read.
I read that Geri didn't even answer the ad until two months after it was put up and that there were several girls who made the band in 1994 when it was called 'Touch' but everyone kept getting replaced. Even one girl replaced another who was when replaced herself by Emma.

@kylespearsfenty What Gui Blackout said. It was a huge shitstorm basically but then it settled with all 5 except Emma for the longest time during rehearsals etc. And then up till right before "Wannabe" was recorded they swapped some girl called Michelle with Emma.
