The sad thing is, Kroger actually came out with a policy to essentially have Cashiers price override mismatching products
In some cases, giving it away for free
Coupon policy is strict, but enforcement isn't the most consistent either.
Every time an aisle gets 'reset', there's bound to be markdowns.
Now Slightly off topic but if I'm griping about customers, here goes:
As said before, people with EBT cards need to check their balance BEFORE they shop.It amazes me how people can put all this stuff into their carts only to do that damn sorting thing at the end.
People who put TEMPERATURE SENSITIVE (read: Perishable) items on the dry grocery shelves are being inconsiderate, but some will be the FIRST to complain about high prices. On that subject, why is it that a lot of the time when people don't want an item, they'll shove it in the checklane candy while they are LITERALLY 5-10 feet from a cashier?
When it comes to cleaning the restroom, particularly the girl's restroom, I'm always sure that I'm going to find used tissue and paper towels.
The cut up fruit in produce is expensive, no matter where you go.That big platter of chopped fruit says 6.99 per POUND.You're literally better off buying the fruit and cutting them up yourself.
In the deli, the following things came in frozen:
Chicken Wings
Premade salads
And if you're not in one of the fancier stores, your sides are Kroger brand can veggies.I've seen Harris Teeter using Kroger brand Potato salad in some of their grab n go items BTW.
Fried Chicken and Chicken Tenders are fresh although Kroger used to go frozen for the latter
Most of the Cakes and Breads come in frozen too.
I just found this out a week or two ago

but if you are buying alcoholic beverages and you have a minor with you (OBVIOUSLY, it's better to buy without minors present anyway), not only do BOTH of you have to get carded BUT No one under the age of 18 can touch the drinks being purchased. They will NOT let you buy it.
I also notice (indirectly) that stores that don't use self checkout machines, aren't usually 24 hrs.The gleaming exception being Walmart.
If you want your items in your reusable bag, please put tour reusable bags on the belt FIRST.There's nothing worse than getting thrown off.
Same with people who want paper bags and people who want their bags doubled.Do NOT wait until I have already started putting your groceries in the bags (or in some cases, the cart) to say that would want it doubled.BIG PET PEEVE.
Another one of my pet peeves is people putting those cases of water on the belt.We have Handscanners, you know.
