I think it's kinda early to determine whether $20 is too much, we don't really have much of an idea of what they'll offer

This is all great and stuff but I'm willing to sacrifice "lossless amazing quality!1!" for free Spotify. $20 is just doing the most to me. If they have other deals then I'll gladly look into it

If it was 14.99 a month I could MAYBE see it. But $20/month is too much, thats $240 a year + taxes. Im not giving Jay Z $256

The whole "hifi/better quality music" thing is a gimmick, anyways. In order to even enjoy "hifi music", you have to have good quality earphones, a great Internet connection (or a cellular plan that is amazing), and a device that will actually play the files (LMAO AT THE IDEA OF BEING ABLE TO PROPERLY STREAM HIFI MUSIC ON A CELL PHONE DATA PLAN). So basically, on top of the $20 a month subscription price, you'll need to invest a few hundred more dollars just for the equipment to enjoy the music. Don't let the hype fool you into thinking you can just download the app and enjoy "better quality music", because it doesn't work that way.

It's all a waste of time and money, and unless they can convince every major artist to leave Spotify completely and come to TIDAL, they'll never even begin to compete with Spotify.

And I'm all for paying for music subscriptions (I pay for Spotify) but it'll take alot for me to leave Spotify at this point for something else, and some Taylor Swifts albums wouldn't be the reason why.

Most users on here are either in high school or in college. Nothing cheap about spending money on things that are far more important than streaming Katy Perry in lossless quality.

Income in regards to who? I was talking more so along the lines of: if this does catch on then would artists like Katy or Gaga feel some type of way because they weren't a part of it. A missed opportunity?

- I think the 20 fee will go down. Wasn't the main complaint w Spotify that artists weren't receiving much money, but the label instead. So in the case of Bey, Rih, Jay who all have control over their music and now a percentage in Tidal they're essentially cutting out the middle man, theres no need for a "high" price.
