Authors have the entire world or their narrative built up in their head and obviously Dumbledore being gay was part of that for JK.
Not to mention it IS implied he was gay with Grindelwald, not explicitly but you can tell that's what the relationship was in her head.

All I really remember is that in 2007 after the final book was released it was revealed that Dumbledore was gay and it made People magazine. I think that she did an interview or whatever.
What I'm saying is that his sexuality wasn't ever implied. You assume most people are straight until you hear otherwise. But like I have a perverted mind and I didn't pick up anything gay between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. It just read like a typical teenage friendship. It's not like there was a passage that read "They spent many nights together in a bathhouse".
But all of you hounding on me. All I've done is read the books, but it sounds like some of you have taken college courses about this damn series. I love the books and have read them all multiple times over, I just didn't see him as gay and I don't see how him being gay has any relevance to the story. Like even if he wasn't gay, he probably would still have been close with Grindelwald because he met an equal for the first time in his life and the story would have continued on basically the same
