Not all the markets and she has yet to get certified in a lot of countries, she's clearly weak.

She's global. She's the only one making fan lists together with Avril in China.

Yes she may have been bigger a few years ago but Katy is clearly bigger in this point in time (nobody else in here is talking past presence are they?)

Exactly. Katy will still have more tickets sold / attendance and more tour gross. This whole stadiums argument is redundant. Katy could of sold out stadiums here if she wanted to aswell.

Well I don't know why but popularity in the US, which by the way Katy also has, is irrelevant to this thread. Technically, though, Rihanna is not American
In the US Taylor is Queen though no one can take that away from her

If you think Katy can sell out those stadiums, I think Taylor can sell out Katy s numbers of arenas, and since her tickets prices will be higher she would gross more...it s just pure speculation and we dont know yet since Taylor s concerts are in December and she s yet to announce dates or do you have some crystal ball ? come back in december if we wanna compare curent stats...the only thing I know right now is that 1989 spent 9 weeks at the top of the Aria chart.

Boo, her 1989 dates are all confirmed here. She has 7 shows here (i think) compared to 23 arenas. She will not come close to Katy. If she could sell out more shows then why doesn't she?
Anyway, 1989 sold great here no doubt, but PRISM has still sold more even if it wasn't #1 for 9 weeks because longevity >> (granted prism is a year older though)
Anyway im tired of this. Her singles, album and tour will do / have done better here. The numbers speaking for themselves.. go look it up if you dont believe me.

not really but 7 shows are confirmed, because ask her I dunno, she can sell out shows in NZ but she wont tour there either ...precisely, Prism is a year older, I ll be glad to bump this thread when Taylor s era is over.

you said it was easy and basically expected yet no one else can even come close to doing it so it
Countries where Taylor 1989 is certified compared to most to least important markets
Japan > America > UK > Germany > France > Canada > Australia > Italy > Mexico > Brazil > Spain

Conclusion, 50k outside >>>>>>> 5M outside

|

I don't get their logic
So if you sell 1 copy in each country of the world you are more global than if you sell 4.5M in the US and 2.1M outside the US? because you sell the same % everywhere?
So My everything is more global than 1989 because it has sold around 50% in the US and around 50% outside while 1989 has sold outside the US more than MY WW?

Are you sure about that? Katy has 1 tour with success, taylor has 3, 2 of them with +120M, soon to be 4 (and that will gross around 200M) so Taylor has more tickets sold / attendance and more tour gross.

Thats a very good point tbh
It's actually been 5 years since loud and TD, they're not recent albums. I forgot about that. And 1989 has already sold about 2.2m outside of the us and still does about 50k internationally a week. So it's already outsold prism and Artpop and every other popgirls latest release and is rapidly coming for unapologetic which had 2 years more less sales decline.
Also taylor has already got 2 tracks on mediatraffic this era. The most any female artist has ever gotten from one era. So she's doing fine in the singles department as well. And the 1989 era has just sold out back to back shows at the Tokyo dome which is huge.
She's obviously the most global popgirl of the last 4 years.
