I think they know now that since Jessica is gone, no actors will be getting moms anymore except for maybe Kathy. Freakshow seriously killed any acclaim. First time in since the first season that Jessica didn't win a single award

Its a Hulu original though, so it could easily film the less than 10 episodes it'll likely get picked up for before July. So I still think Frances will appear in some capacity, I just wanted her to be a lead.

Yeah, a reboot seems like a nice idea, but it's not. It deviates American Horror Story from the thing it's been branded as. The defining trait of it is that it's an anthology series that has the cast return for various roles.
I'm not sure why everyone seems to be gone-- whether they were simply not called back or they chose to leave themselves-- but most everyone has prior commitments or confirmation they aren't coming back. Frances, Lily, Sarah & Emma all have other projects. Jessica's retiring. I'm not sure about the others; I can't name things off of the top of my head.
I'm not saying this to be shady, and it's certainly not aimed at Gaga, but something like this will squander any potential the show had to come back after something like Freak Show.

Well actually Lilly was linked to a play in the first season, and Ryan Murphy did everything in his power to make it work, so that she could appear on the show, so I don't see why he couldn't do that for the rest of the cast.

Because that was one person. We have 3 people that have all been trademark actresses in the show filming other things. He can try all he wants, but he cannot fit them all in with huge roles. Emma's definitely gone, too, since she's on Scream Queens, and Jessica's done, and her name alone made up AHS.

I was just thinking it would actually be extremely interesting if the main characters from past seasons, played the causality roles, of the people that appear in episode to episode, so for example, how in season 2, Asylum we had that whole story line with Anne Frank (which was kind of horrid, but I'm just using this as an example) Sarah Paulson, Lilly Rabe etc, come in to play the story's that are added in to add context to the overall story line. So like if we're set in a Hotel, we're obviously going to see guests at the Hotel, who will probably play out some of the major story lines, and as a new guest appears, whether it is just for one episode, or a couple, the guests could be played by the previous cast members who had larger roles, so they are able to still be apart of the show, but also not be tied down, so they're able to attend their other projects.

but what's the shooting schedule like for scream queens, haven't they already begun filming, so by the time Hotel starts, their could be time for her to appear, I'm not really worried about the loss of Emma Roberts though, her performance was extremely weak in Freak Show, and whether that was just bad writing, bad performance, or a mix of both (which is my thought) because that scene with Emma and Evan and the hands being cut off, her acting was absolutely dreadful.

I think Gaga makes sense, and had she been thrown in the mix with the original cast, yes it would've been better, she actually seems like this gig was made for her, I saw a lot of Gaga in Lana Winters, and I actually could picture her in that role, but you're right a reboot, and then adding a pop star, if it really is true, it could be a complete disaster for the series, not really worse then Freak Show, because I don't know if it can get much worse, but we'll see I guess..

Scream Queens is 15 episodes, and they're filming the first 2 episodes from now until April 13th (or 15th?), then stopping, because Ariana Grande's supposed to appear on the show starting in episode 3, and they're picking up filming in July when she's on a break from tour so she can film. From then on, AHS & Scream Queens will be filming at the same time, so there's no way Emma's going to be in the show.

I really don't want to delve on Gaga being in the show, because I've said my feelings on that enough. She is not an experienced actress. Everyone else in major roles has been, and all of them, minus Taissa, have been at least above average in multiple episodes if not all of them. It's risky and strange, and I know Ryan likely did it to use her name alone because he feared he needed something like that to rely on after the backlash, both critically & ratings-wise, that Freak Show had. Lily & Frances held the show down even at its weakest points in the best seasons, and Frances was the sole good part of Freak Show. Not having both is a really bad thing for the show.

Gaga will be great for the show!  Certain fanbases will be very jealous and upset about that but they'll have to find a way to cope.
Anyway, I'm thinking a reboot would be a great idea. A fresh start + a few smaller roles saved for the oldies. The oldies will be there as a nod to past seasons/audiences and the fresh cast will be there to slay!

You know, I don't nearly mind this as much in SYG, but you deliberately saying things to disagree with me, in here of all places, is getting really annoying.
My concern about Gaga being in the show has nothing to do with my stanning pattern. I'd jump ship if Madonna was cast.
A reboot is not a good idea. Period. It's ruining the entire concept of the show.

I'm not "deliberately disagreeing" take a breather.
A reboot would be a good idea considering last seasons huge backlash. And the shows concept would remain the same for the coming seasons. Viola.
I mean, how else are we going to explain nearly every cast member from last season being unable to star in this or actively retiring? They're basically rebooting after the mess of Freakshow.

Have you not watched the show? At all? 
She was robbed of the main cast billing in Murder House. She was in 11 episodes. She was in 5 episodes of Asylum, which was the closest you get to your estimate. 10 in Coven, in a gigantic role, and 8 episodes on Freak Show, due to filming arrangements.
She is a huge part of the show, considering she's the best actress on it, too.

this is the only reason I'm not completely fuming about the reboot, its a good idea imo, i just want a few people back
last season was awful, and i feel like the cast is becoming uninterested in it, since they have all had the same roles since season 2

Phenex, you drag Emma & all my opinions out of spite. 
I stay firm in my worries about Gaga. They are not meant to be personal attacks towards her to drag or shade her. It honestly concerns me for the show.
But KyliestBoi's comment is one of the worst things I've read on this forum, ever.
