They dodged this issue by giving her few lines with this comeback though, and it should work okay if they do the same for any future additions. If fans don't see the new members as a threat to their current favourite members they won't be hostile towards new additions.
If anything, the thing with
rotation groups that they should be worried about is when they eventually start rotating out old members. After all, it wouldn't really be a rotation group if they just kept adding and adding members without switching out the old ones

And the day they switch out Wendy or Seulgi will be the day fans will switch off b/c their talent obviously.
