“I’ve made a lot of songs that are really, really big songs,” she said. “From the jump, they just blow up. And I wanted to kind of get back to — not that they weren’t real music, but I just wanted to focus on things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever.”
“I wanted songs that I could perform in 15 years; I wanted an album that I could perform in 15 years,” she concluded. “Not any songs that were burnt out. I find that when I get on stage now, I don’t want to perform a lot of my songs. They don’t feel like me. So I want to make songs that are timeless.”

Yes this was for preview so it was a limited release. It's official release is March 20th.

HTTYD2 did $1M in previews and opened with $13M.

It was technically the #1 movie in the UK buy since it was preview the $2.5M will be counted towards the opening weekend so if the movies makes $10M on opening weekend with the added preview it will be at $12.5 on official charts.

What songs could she be dragging in that MTV article?
I feel they are:
Pon De Rihplay
S.O.S.
Disturbia
Russian Roulette
Hits she don't play anymore.

I think she's talking about 90% of her songs, not Stay and Diamonds ofc

I don't think she's necessarily dragging her old songs just that she's in a different place than during LOUD, RR and all the other albums so it's doesn't feel right nor that it feels like her cause she's a different person/ has a different mindset.

^this
Why do y'all feel the need to drag an album for the other ...
She doesn't use ALL of her songs anymore, she only perform them to please the fans
And that's the case for 90% of the artists out there.

While I love her hits, I can see why she's at a place where she doesn't really feel like performing them (I definitely agree with Mike). She's growing up and evolving/maturing both as a person and musically and she wants her album and forthcoming performances to reflect that. I'm all for it tbh

I'm kinda sad at the rihtirement of Only Girl though. She probably doesn't feel like the Only Girl (in Pop) anymore.
I blame Katy.

Why? It's not like she slayed it live, 90% of times she just pointed the mic to the crowd
