Charli is really only doing what her label tells her she needs to do, you can tell by the "listen to my new song on radio Disney!" tweets which is sad - but she didn't intentionally make music with success in mind, unlike Marina and the EH singles.

Ah, I don't think she expected Fancy or Boom Clap to be as huge as they were. I do think she expected Break The Rules to be bigger but I don't think she really cares how it performed in the end? She's definitely making music for the art and just seeing where it takes her. You don't see her cashing in for Dr. Luke tracks.
