While I don't really use her, I always wondered how she took like three years from Emancipatio to E=MC² and this album was like done in ... half a year after E=MC²??

Well there were a several possible reasons. Having to make up for the disaster that E=MC^2 turned into, the miscarriage and her wanting to get her mind off of it, and also being the last year of her 30s. She wasn't going to pass that one up.

Her ode to Minnie R's "Lovin you", "HATE U" is actually beautiful and poignant.

I love Candy bling. Probably her dreamiest of all her midtempos. I thought this song was genius, tbh.

"It's a wrap" is also very classy. Reminiscent of old time jazz but with a modern twist.

Why did I never really realize the correlation between Loving You and H.A.T.E. U until now? The whistle is almost exactly the same too.

This album and Rainbow were hastily done hence they sound like mixtape of unfinished demo

I honestly think Memoirs is her best 00s album. The album is very cohesive and there's no song I dislike. Maybe Obsessed doesn't fit that much, but I don't get the hate for Angels Cry or AITKWLI

The era in which I became a fan

I remember hearing Obsessed on the radio in 7th grade and thinking it was another stupid song by some random basic artist. I barely knew who Mariah was. But somehow I got into her music after learning more about her on the internet.

The album is quite solid honestly. I still think Obsessed is a travesty but the only other songs I don't really use are the original UOMF and Angels Cry. The songs have really nice mellow vibes that I love relaxing and reminiscing to.
