Not gonna lie I was very close to turning off Empire in the first episode. Those unneccesary opening 10 minutes of Fantasia singing. The boys lipping and playing ring around the rosey to an autotuned rap song by a grand piano. Cookie bursting out of nowhere giving slight I was your lover and ur secretare teas.

Things got interesting toward the end of the epi when the criminal storylines started unfolding though.

Cinderella (the movie, not the actress) looked beautiful. Gorgeous sets and costumes and well put together (something you get when you hire a real director).
