I'm not downplaying anybody's struggles, and I agree that every minority goes through their own thing. Just saying that by sheer numbers, there are literally more women facing oppression than any other group.

I kinda see her point. Things are progressing and changing for the better faster when it comes to gay people or racism and segregation, you can clearly see how much it has changed in the past 50 years, but not as much was done when it comes to womens rights and sexism. Most men (and this society) still treat us like lesser human beings, and most of them dont even admit it to themselves, they just expect women to obey and serve and think its how it should be.

it's true though

even in the most conservative countries like mauritius, violence towards LGBT or people of ethnic minorities is denounced by the government and the educated

but biases towards women is so accepted and engrained in everyone's heads even in the developed world

most people don't think it's wrong that women have to play an accepted role or subordinate to men

most people think it's right that women "should dress the right way" or don't go out alone or late at night or they will suffer the consequences

their issues are harder to fight because it's ingrained in the mentality and culture of everyone and it's not so blatant like homophobia and racism
