1989 is making Red look like a flop, but then Red itself made everyone else look like a flop!
Red sold 856k in 2013 which made it the 17th highest selling album in the US during 2013!
For comparison sake, the following albums were released in 2013 and sold the following in the US by the years end
Beyonce 1.3m
Prism 968k
Bangerz 757k
Pure Heroine 686k
Yeesuz 626k
Artpop 589k
So you can see Prism only sold just over 100k more than Red did in 2013, despite Red being released the year before!
Red also sold almost 200k in 2014.
1989 is on course to be amongst the very top selling albums in the US this year. It might even be top if Adele doesn't release! 1989 is clearly gonna pass the 1 million milestone sold within weeks. Most artists cannot even reach that target within their year of release!
