I always thought it was maybe because of labels wanting hits, and artists become more willing to sacrifice quality for it. Or it could be their own need to be succesful.
Like, ****. If I'm just getting signed, and my labelmates are big hit makers, I'd be wanting to see that same success too. Plus, rappers are inherently competitivez
