WAY over the whole promotion thing. I know an interview or two would be just phenomenal right now, but a lot of artists realize that it's not needed anymore.
High profile award shows, or promotion/performances around the album release is all it really takes these days for an album. Singles will get promoted based on the video and radio play. That's why Madonna, Mariah, Usher, and a lot of other people based their promo around the album release then went about their business, Mariah of course not doing anything LOL, but you get it.
Sinking ship? Yeah two of those singles going #1, and the other currently #10 on Pop radio, and all of them being Digital/Hot 100 hits is trying to plug a hole. It's called CONSISTANCY. Something Christina will never learn to do releasing albums every 40 years making herself less and less irrelevant with each album.
