Same here! There have been a few hate crimes around my area, but I've never once felt threatened while walking down the street or meeting someone new. I guess it's all just luck of the draw, being with the wrong person at the wrong time who think you're the wrong colour.

I think the law is the same as the US- you can own a gun as long as you have it registered. You don't hear about people being held up at gunpoint very often here, though. I don't even remember the last time I heard about a gun-related issue on the news.
