!!! They shouldn't be. Considering that her last album was released nearly four years ago + the promo schedule was quite lackluster, these numbers are good.
I have to say I'm a bit surprised, the adults always show up and show out for Kelly, but 80K isn't anything to scoff at considering the singles it had.
If Kelly had a Roar or Shake It Off-type lead single, then yes, these numbers would be abysmal.
! And she had ONE US promo appearance for HBS, which was two nights ago. No awards show or anything to boost the lead single/album. The fact that it's #1 on iTunes is amazing in itself.
Seems like decent, reasonable numbers considering very minor promo and not performing week after week for a month on a reality competition show she is a judge on.

Pre-ordering is not excluded from Billboard numbers. Apple's rule change prevents "gratuity" singles from taking over the charts and pre-ordered albums from dominating the top spots. Its top charts are a reflection of real-time purchasing now rather than pre-orders.

Sis, you're making excuses. They don't show up in the iTunes albums chart but those pre-orders WILL be counted by Billboard, Nielsen and the RIAA. The effect iTunes not showing the pre-orders will be minimal at most.
That's right. Didn't the Fighters use "it's a bad sales climate for albums" back in 2012 for that album as well? And suddenly that argument isn't valid anymore? 2012 v. 2015.
A mess. With all that promo, and preorder time, and that's all for Kelly? No wonder she can't get people to collabo with her.
All what promo? She released her song Jan. 12 and then went on vacation for a month. She spent most of February in the UK, forgoing ALL US promo until THIS. WEEK. But I wouldn't expect you to understand the facts involved.
No shade to Kelly, I actually love her, but I'm not surprised when the album was shockingly weak, the single sucked, her image right now is… interesting, & the promotion was half-assed. You get what you give, really.
