Not every rapper receives acclaim though. Those that do like Kanye for example have broader themes in their music like depression, frustration, love, oppression, ignorance e.t.c.

Nah, he'll probably still get the praise. It's mainly the hip-hop fans that don't seem to care for him as much.

Kanye's album is going to get strong reviews. He always does. His lowest rated album is a compilation with other artists, followed by the pop-influenced/auto-tuned 808s & Heartbreak (which still got good reviews considering). Critics are scared to give him anything other than good reviews. Yeezus shouldn't even be in the 80s.
