I don't think so. Kanye is simply a narcissist when it's all said and done. I mean the man went to The Breakfast Club and said he's the most influential person in footwear right now. I'm pretty sure fashion critics are not too keen on him and his "art". Where does he get off thinking he's the next Shakespeare or Steve Jobs? Confidence is great but his arrogance is just plain stupid.

I'm not saying that MBDTF isn't highly acclaimed but that doesn't mean it's the best album of the past 25 years. I really dislike how he pompously declared his music the best without any regard for genre.

In any case, what the **** happened to:

Homogenic
Vespertine
OK Computer
Nevermind
The Blueprint
Stankonia
Illmatic
Enter the Wu-Tang

These are a few albums I can think of off the top of my head that are critically praised and I personally think are better albums than MBDTF. Hell these days I prefer 808s and the College Dropout to MBDTF.

So, if critics say that his music is lackluster, he would take it? I severely doubt it. Kanye feels the way he does because he feels the way he does. Therefore, he's a narcissist. The critics only enable him even further.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy may be the best album of its time to him and critcs, but luckily I have a mind of my own and can say nah with no hesitation.

It's funny how critically acclaimed/revered MBDTF is, yet it has done nothing to shape modern-day hip hop like other critically acclaimed/revered hip hop albums did for their eras. It's a critically acclaimed that's just critically acclaimed.

the only influential albums of this decade are 21 and Babel by Mumford and Sons
(BEYONCE shaped how albums are being released)
if we count 2009... then The E.N.D by BEP

i think the artists themselves are the ones shaping a genre rather than the actual albums...like Drake has deff had a major impact on Hip-Hop but i wouldn't necessarily say Take Care was the influence (mainly because he features a lot)

Real talk Kanye is annoying and his own biggest fan. Acclaim means nothing when you pay for it and that applies to Bey, Jay and Rihanna too (tere is no way critics actually like that awful crap she just released).
