I don't see the reasoning behind paying for good reviews when there are tons of albums that explode without support from random journalists for a magazine.
This is Reddit, so bust out your salt bowls, but supposedly Dylan O'Brien has been cast as Spider-Man.
Though to the guy's credit, the supposed leaker is the same guy who leaked the details of the Marvel-Sony Spider-Man deal weeks in advance. It's still Reddit, but it's something to consider.

But those are indie artist to begin with, they don't play that game. Mainstream artist & their labels love to get validation that they make "real, quality music".

I don't see the profit. I doubt Sam Smith or his label was tripping because critics deemed his music "MOR" or "whiny" when he scooped up two big hits, a platinum album and several Grammys without them.
Paying for reviews is such a sad thing if it is actually a thing.
Andrew Garfield literally ruined Spider Man. I have never walked out from a super hero movie in my life (not even Green Lantern) but I walked out of The Amazing Spider-man 2. Literally the most boring super hero movie ever, I fell asleep and couldn't handle struggling with the cold and the bad movie at the same time.
Poor geeks and freaks, the fumes of boiling IQs. Yas hunny.
