Crossing my fingers that this song can pull thru and SMASH. Haven't been this excited about a pop song in a good while and everyone I show seems to love it too!
It's also good to see Charli's song with Rita kinda doing okay in the US
Yeah, I'm rooting for this song too. It's amazing and so damn catchy
An angstier, trendier Alanis with more teenage/youth appeal. Sk8er Boi built a LEGACY.
Hello Kitty ended what was left of Avril's career. It's obvious that being famous since childhood has made her into a weird robotic character a la Britney but nobody cares about her enough to notice
Vanessa Carlton, Michelle Branch, Stacie Orrico, and a bunch of those pop/rock/AC females of that time have been forgotten. Avril was more successful, but still.... That's why it's only right to commend P!nk and even Kelly Clarkson for maintaining.

VC has stayed making tons of great music though, I respect her a ton.
Michelle Branch I own both her albums from childhood but that woman really fell off hard. Didn't even get another LP out, but that random country album she did was low key cute.
Didn't that happen to No Doubt's "Don't Speak"? Their biggest hit and it didn't even chart on the Hot 100. What a colossal mess
It was #1 on Hot 100 Airplay for like 16 weeks or something. I'm not sure if it would have taken down "Un-break My Heart" since that had huge sales, but it would have definitely been a threat had it had sales. I think that's what they were up against.
Fun. kinda split up after that era. Lena Dunham's bf from fun. had his own band formed. They released an album last year. I don't know any names tho, they are too irrelevant.
& Are You That Somebody would've been a #1 if it was physically out so B00P. Queen was punching even with labels doing her wrong.
Which is why I laugh when people try to say that both Brandy and Monica had her beat. Brandy did, but Monica couldn't even outsell her with solo singles that charted better and being featured on one of the biggest singles of the 90s.

Jack Antonoff formed the Bleachers but I'm going night night now
Imagine if Kesha and Avril collaborated at some point, in like 2011 or something. Their sounds have always fit together SO well, a duet of sorts would've been great
