Uncle was not that much more known than ToY. It's just kinda the truth. Maybe a little bit but overall not that much. Also Katy had more selling power to her name during PRISM. Switch Uncle/ToY in their respective eras and you would've seen close to the same result imo.
RHI really suffered on the Hot 100 due to the album sales killing off the single sales, but it sold over 2M in total (I believe). It would've made a nice final Top 10 for the era but whatever. She clearly could've cared less about it.
It's ironic that the 21 era was so messily handled despite it out-smashing everyone else, lol. On top of everything else, she never released the should've been #1 Turning Tables.
Thinking of You barely went top 30. It eventually went platinum over time partly because of Teenage Dream, but sales were better back then so it's not the same as Unconditionally.

Thinking of You is more "relatable" than Unconditionally and people like that. I don't think Katy could have pulled off Unconditionally during OOTB.
I would really love to see an Elizabeth Warren presidency but there's no way Hillary wouldn't crush her in the primaries, and there's also no way the US would elect a 73 year old woman
Take Me to Church is better, fresher and didn't need a dance remix on the radio to make it a hit. It also has a great message which STIUTK doesn't necessarily LACK, but it just doesn't compare.
