ditch the lame EDM crap. it's over. it's basic, it's faded, it's boring.
write great melodies, great lyrics, put quality time into the instrumentals (aka, write the song, don't use a boring, basic, recycled beat again like all of AP), and sound amazing. really impress people. that's what she should do.
that's why i love her SG songs. good lyrics, relatable, she sounds good. she's too good for pop music.

Honestly her lyrics......I'd more so say that it's because Gaga wrote from an aspect of fantasy and concept rather than her own reality. It is what kept her facade of being a mysterious girl and arguably brought her the massive fame and successes of her debut year. She was singing about fame before she was famous, and then once she BECAME famous she sang about the darksides of fame. Both are tremendously unrelatable topics to the GP, but she made it work because her persona and everything else clicked together the way it should have. Obviously she isn't the best songwriter of all time or anything, but she made things work that wouldn't really work for anyone else at that time.
TF-TFM and BTW all have their ups and downs, both lyrically and melodically, but she's done nothing but progress from either of those albums. Obviously she's ditching the dance music, it's what got her here, but even she knows that it's not working for her anymore and it really does her no justice. ARTPOP was a misstep, but it's clear that she's correcting that with C2C and the rebranding that's been going on for much of last year till now.
In my honest opinion, Gaga's real problem is that her music never lived up to her ridiculous name or publicity. She was crazy, but her music was not. She was wild, but up until BTW her music was different, just not outrageous like her imagery would have you think so.
