It boggles my mind that people have the audacity to say Britney Spears is a Legend.
She couldn't even make it 15 years without her whole career being forgotten, and to the age 35. Let's not sit here and think of how forgotten she will be by the time she's 40, 45, etc. She's no Madonna / Mariah / Whitney / etc.
She was a Pop Icon and that's it. She gets no recurrent airplay, has 1 song in the T1500 of iTunes, and can't even go half-gold 15 years into her career.
She also has no impact, but her stans will try to argue this by posting a video of a Pop Girl saying they loved her back in 2003 or watching her limp half-dead in Vegas. She literally was relevant for only 1 decade.
Lol, you act as if none of those same women suffered a similar career dip at the same time. Mariah had ten years of success until 2001 came around. Same goes for Whitney in 2002 with Just Whitney around 15/16 years into her career and Madonna ten years into her career with Erotica. That doesn't erase the success preceding those albums at all. And each were around Britney's age when that happened, respectively.
And your means of determining impact are arbitrary at best. Why has Britney sold more singles digitally in the US than Usher despite him not only having more airplay + yielding more #1's + promoting more often + releasing a greater # of singles? And yet you call him a legend. So why is it ridiculous if an Britney stan does it, but not an Usher stan? Get a grip.

Madonna and Mariah came back, and managed to make classics + had hella talent. Britney is literally braindead, and will never come back. She lasted 1 decade, whereas Madonna + Mariah lasted for atleast 2 full decades. Whitney's career died after 15 years, but she was already so legendary because of the fact she has the greatest voice for a female singer in history. What voice does Britney have? She literally hired someone to sing on her own album.

I haven't seriously called Usher a legend. He's an icon overall, but his impact, relevance, and longevity in the R&B/Hip-Hop field (still going #1 after 18 years) without a doubt makes him an R&B Legend.
Dragging Usher's digital power also makes no sense, when R&B artists have no digital power, and he's released like 4 Pop singles.
Britney is a joke. Her whole career is literally forgotten after 15 years, and she didn't make it til 35. That is without a doubt far from 'legendary'.
There's a reason that Mariah even having her voice in the form of what Brittany's is in every single night for the past decade for 1 performance makes news headlines. The difference between a respected, influential, and legendary woman & a Teen Pop Icon.
Yeah Mariah is nowhere near of being a Legend like her stans like to think. Her albums were always critically panned, are now completely forgotten and her voice is gone. There's nothing to talk/remember her besides her diva antics.
