Social Media is bigger than JUST social media. It really can shape the discourse of an issue. Twitter started the whole conversation about Iggy's cultural appropriation gimmick and many mainstream media outlets picked up on it and agreed with it. Now the general consensus is Iggy is a fake, her accent is fake, her music is whack, and the only reason shes even "rapping" is because her pop singer career flopped. Look at hows she struggling to get a hit after that media firestorm in the fall.
If you were so tired of seeing her in your timeline, mute her or log off. But it's your choice at the end of the day
