The singles charts this year has been so boring, even the new releases. At least the album chart has been hopping.

IMO there are too many ballads and not enough good uptempos doing really well. That could be a reason Uptown Funk is continuously getting back to #1 and dominating to make up for that.

At this point in the era, it would be smart to put 1989 on spotify. No one will buy a single if they bought the album. But they'll have no problem streaming it. And since her core base has already bought the album, this gives casual listeners a chance to listen and potentially buy the album as well. Which I think would lead to more sales in the long run. But after her public disapproval of the service it probably won't happen
