Most of Hard Candy didn't age well outside of 4 Minutes & Heartbeat, but those two still sound fresh to me.
I just cannot get into Hung Up, especially knowing how much better Get Together is.

Mariah is way better suited for smooth, midtempo and upbeat R&B jams than big ballads. Songs like "Honey," "The Roof," "Don't Forget About Us," "You Don't Know What To Do," "Migrate," etc. are far more enjoyable from her than huge belt fests like "Dreamlover" for instance.

Honestly, I'm more attracted & likely to replay Mariah's uptempo R&B tracks, which she mostly started doing from Emancipation onwards.
I remain adamant that We Belong Together is her best ballad. Just brilliant.

If "The Roof" counts as a ballad, then it's her best one. If not, then it's definitely "We Belong Together."
EDIT: Omfg, I forgot about H.A.T.E.U. That song is just bliss.
