The article is about cover versions in general. They just mentioned Taylor Swift because she is the biggest act in the US. Taylor doesn't have a problem with cover versions as she did not object to that cover version of BS that charted highly on iTunes recently. She has also tweeted various youtube cover versions.

Billboard just using her in the headline to generate interest in the new regulations.

Well technically, it was an EP which is why it charted separately. But it was all one era, like Fearless and Fearless Platinum Edition. If TFM had been packaged like FPE, the sales would be combined

Is anyone here for a rerelease of 1989 (released in late 2015) with 3-5 new tracks (TD Complete Confection teas ) which would hopefully push the album to 10m+ WW?

Or would you prefer to just wait till 2016 for the new era
