Ziyi Zhang headlined Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon & Memoirs of a Geisha and was heaped with critical praise from many circles and won several awards but was famously snubbed by the Academy Awards twice despite being better than some of the people who were nominated. Because never let their voices be heard. If this were a black, latino, jew, gay, or something sexist you would've seen this everywhere with people being loud about the issue. Asians either get ignored by the media, or they get laughed at.

Lucy Lu...of course, she would be a good fit for this role... but she's busy with her hit show Elementary. I think Scarlett will do fine...they were never going to choose an actress with a name like Zhang Ziyi...she could never carry a movie like this and make it profitable, sadly.

Yet again I didn't mention anyone's race MAYBE if there was a high profile director like Christopher Nolan etc I would but generally who the hell goes to see some unknown ? AND I can only count on 1 hand of people I know that watches manga. BYE fool.

Eh 1 Rue was dark skin but never does it say she was black. For all I know she could have been of Spanish descent

2 don't give us make action stars. It is common fact that most men can idolise another man of a different race much easier than women, whereas women have this I want to relate to the person sort of vibe going and usually that's someone that looks closer to them. Hence why it would be easy to cast an unknown Asian male to star in a film than an unknown Asian female.

3 ScaJo is every nerds fantasy. So imagine cleavage on display, and with her bone structure she will look Japanese real easy. The female Keanu Reeves tbh.

4 it's a ****ing business. Lucy + black widow mean ScaJo can do action real well

5 the american population is only 5% of the population. Cmon it's difficult to cater for a small population and try to make huge stars out of it. So obviously less roles for them. Relatability people.

Not that I think Ziyi Zhang would be good for this movie (Scarlett would probably fit the role better in all honesty, I was just bringing a point about the prejudices in Hollywood) but..
