So if beforehand someone quits but state a member that isn't originally in the competition, the album can still be played
Good to know in future seasons

I didn't realize the due date was tomorrow.
Thanks for the reminder.
I've been way too busy. I'll definitely probably have in in a couple hours.

Choose The Album, Then a Song 7: VOTE! [R8]
Welcome to the seventh season of ATRL original game
Choose The Album, Then a Song
Welcome to the eighth round!
Thanks to the quiters we are reaching the final stages of the season in a fast pace and sooner or later we'll be meeting our top 5. We are down to 8 contestants and remember that only one will leave the competition with the winning title so you better do your best!
Let's meet the entries!
T H E R U L E S
For six seasons this game had its ups and downs and to make sure the 'downs' part won't happen again, I had to create a set of rules. So if you're signing up, this means you agree to:
1. DURING THE VOTING PERIOD, YOU'LL HAVE TO CAST YOUR VOTE (OTHERWISE YOU'RE PENALIZED);
2. YOU CAN NOT ASK FANS/FRIENDS TO SAVE YOUR ALBUM;
3. THE JUDGES HAVE TO BE FAIR. IF YOU DETECT BIASNESS OR UNFAIRNESS, LET ME KNOW.

I decided to study engineering which is a very difficult course, and many times, I’m under so much pressure but I still work so hard just to please my parents. However, even with the best efforts I put in, it seems like all of the hard work just goes unnoticed and my parents still look at me as “the useless one”.
This song, Good Enough, has lyrics that just speak to me every time I feel low from all of the stress and burden. The song is written from Little Mix’s current successful stand point, and this gives me a lot of hope because although the song is sad and mellow, it is a **** you to anyone that has doubted my strengths. Not only my parents, but “friends”, classmates, and even teachers who have never believed in me.
This song (especially the third verse) gives me so much hope and comfort, and the aspiration that one day I would be soaring so high, higher than people thought possible. It gives me the hope that one day, I would finally be beyond what people expect of me, and I would finally be good enough, even better than anyone’s imaginations.

Love in High Places is a song that is quite a "warm blanket" to me. It is extremely laid back and lush, and always puts me in the right mood. With lyrics about love and transcending the mundane and normal, it's something that can rid my mind of my worries and just make me think of the good things in life and how I know I can be strong enough to get through anything ("But there's a space that I'm saving, to keep me strong"). With about 2 minutes of bass and other soothing sounds at the end to tranquilize my mind, it always hits the right spots after coming home from a long day of school (like today, especially!). Be sure to check out this awesome lyrics video for it here, it isn't the full song but it's great to see the lyrics laid out in such a creative way.

3. holyground - Lorde - Pure Heroine: A World Alone

In the closer of Pure Heroine, Lorde dances with her loved one away from what the haters say. She laments that "people are talking", but it's okay as she's dancing in the world alone with her boyfriend, ignoring the negativity around her.
I'm sure we have "friends" who's all seemingly nice, but would talk trash about you behind your back. Just like how people don't understand Lorde's relationship with her boyfriend and talk smack about her. But it's okay, as all they need is each other and they are more than content shaking it off. Similarly, when some people love taking the piss out of me, I can find comfort in shrugging it off with the few people who I trust, even though no one will probably understand us.
It doesn't have to be about talkative bitches either. There's this big unwelcome change that's coming in my life that has kinda caused me to be perpetually nervous for the past few days. But I know that I can find solace within myself, and I've got my brothers who are doing this with me, who would help alleviate these hard times.
"One day the blood won't flow so gladly". We will be dead one day and bothering about the negatives would be too time consuming. Instead, it's best we find comfort within ourselves, and the people whom we love.

4. Luigi - Janet Jackson - The Velvet Rope: Together Again

The upbeat, disco-influenced Together Again is a bittersweet song, yet a comforting and reassuring one. Janet wrote this song to bid farewell to a friend who died of AIDS and this song heavily resonates with people who have experienced loss in their life. As Janet sings, you can connect with the lyrics and see that you're not alone in this world and you're not the only one who has went through this pain. Even though I haven't had major deaths from family members occur, I relate this song to my hamsters that passed away this past year who were family themselves. Initially, I was incredibly sad after finding out they died, but as time went on, I came to accept it and realize they must be in a happier place.
Janet's soft vocals accompanied by the house beat gives you a sense of joy as she reassures you that everything will be alright. You'll reunite with your loved one in heaven. This song isn't just about deaths, though. It can relate to any situation. This song is about finding hope and realizing that every cloud has a silver lining. No matter what you're going through, it will get better.

5. MusicLoverDude - Carly Rae Jepsen - Kiss: Your Heart Is A Muscle

If I'm going to be honest, it's not often my emotions get so riled up like described for this round. I'm lucky to be very happy most of the time. However, there are times where I do lose control over them and I breakdown and cry over making mistakes I've made or feeling like no one is there to help me. Music has always been one of my escape routes though. With Carly, Your Heart Is a Muscle is the song I go to as part of that escape route. It is a relationship song, but so is every other song on Kiss except Good Time. But I still go to this song for comfort because this is where Carly has the most empathy in her vocals. Instead of having the happy Disney princess vibe, she has this comforting and concerned tone in her voice. Hearing the lyrics "In times like this you must recall your heart is a muscle" and "you gotta work it out, make it stronger, shine me for just a little longer" are uplifting and a little empowering, despite the gloomy mood of the song, which to me depicts how we try to keep a positive outlook in a tough situation. This song just makes me feel ok and helps me keep my head up. It doesn't matter if the song is about a relationship, because I found my own meaning within the lyrics and this song keeps me sane at the end of the day

6. Bloomers - Baroness - Yellow & Green: Eula

A modern bard once said: Do you ever feel like a plastic bag / Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again? / Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin / Like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?" These wise and astute words are words that represent the human condition. Everyone has their days where they feel down, unaccomplished, drifting, defeated. As good as it is to be alive, life is impossible without experiencing these feelings from time to time.
We all handle these feelings differently: some of us need to be inspired to ignite our inner lights and let them shine, others need accomplishments, and some people need time to comfort themselves. "Eula," the defeated closer to Yellow hits like a firework to the face: "Settle down / This won't last long / I've been out / And I want back in / So why not completely fade away?" It's a remorse filled, aimless song that's angry and lost. Yet, it's comforting to me. It's pained; but it's one of those songs that reminds me whenever I'm feeling adrift or crushed, that someone else has been there, that someone else has felt the exact same way, and that likely someone else had had it worse. "Eula" is a song that tells me that it's ok to feel like I'm fading away, but it also reminds me that I'm not alone in that and that everyone overcomes this and life (and the album) goes on; and I find that comforting.

7. Capital B - Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill: Hand In My Pocket

Aside from it's signature acoustic sound, Alanis' music is also known for being relatable and real. Unlike the bravado of current pop music which is so often focused on bragging about partying, riches, and hot bodies, Alanis' music speaks to the reality of our, the listeners, everyday lives. "Hand In My Pocket" is just that type of song. She sings about being young, broke, and tired. It's important to note that this song was written before she "made it big" - therefore it's that much more genuine. But she doesn't leave it at "I'm broke" - but rather she reframes it and looks forward. By juxtaposing these negative qualities with more positive ones ("I'm broke but I'm happy, I'm poor but I'm kind, I'm short but I'm healthy") she encourages the listener (and herself!) to not get caught in a negative cycle of thought. For that specific reason, this track is not only one of the most comforting songs on the album, but in fact one of the most comforting songs I know. Yes, things may be bad at times, but I find immense comfort in the message of this song - that things can, and will, change for the better. When Alanis signs "what it all comes down to is that everything's gonna be fine, fine, fine" I believe her - maybe it's something in her voice, or what I know she's been through - but this song truly motivates me to look fast my own troubles and find comfort in the human condition.

Save:Little Mix - Great write-up and song. Good luck with your work!
Honorable Mention: Carly - I really could see how this song speaks to you from your essay. You found your own meaning in the lyrics, but explained you connection well.
These votes were near impossible to make. I'm sorry guys.
Off:
Janet - I really loved the song. I played it on loop for a while after I went through the entries. The only reason I gave you an off was because your essay didn't explicitly say how the song brought you comfort. I'm really sorry.
Alanis - I thought your essay was strong; your song choice was brilliant, especially choosing a song from before she hit it big, just the other essays seemed to add a more personal touch to their relationship with their songs.
