IDK.. the Babadook could have been a lot better.. it was beautifully film but I just feel like it lacks something that would make it a true MASTERPIECE.

The Forgotten is OK, I just love Julianne Moore's acting so anything she is in is automacally good to me. And I also love mother-son link in movies. The ending is corny but I love it. Made me cry.
The Last Haus on the Left is GREAT !! Just Great !! The rape scene was so intense altho it doesnt really show anything.
Exam is OK but forgettable. It's like Saw without all the gore and stuff. Like a combination of Saw and Buried.
Case39 is AMAZINGGGGG. I love Renee's acting so much she is so talented.

About to watch Abigail Breslin in Haunter

People bashing the strangers are just people who want jump scares and fake ghosts and unrealistic outcomes. The thing with the strangers is the raw and pure realism of the film. Unlike 99% of horror movies, The Strangers is 100% possible and realistic and actually happens very often. That's why it's terrifying. Because at any given moment, you could be in the protagonists position, house invasions happen every moment. When that deep menacing voice at the start of the film narrates the figurative amounts of home invasions and murders that occur annually, that's as real as any horror film can ever get. Not bashing anyone who doesn't appreciate the movie just trying to give perspective to those who don't understand why its praised highly.

 I agree.

Chapel also said The Skeleton Key was "boring". Line that up with praising You're Next over its superior, I have nothing else to say!

The Strangers is realistic, well more realistic than most other horror movies, but it's really not a great movie. Some of the scenes are creepy though.

Anyone who says that The Strangers or The Skeleton Key is trash needs to hit the exit thread button and never return again

The original series with Danielle Harris is. Idk about the film. The series was canceled during it's fifth episode for unknown reasons. Most likely budget cuts!

I didn't even know the show existed! I was excited to start it until you said it got cancelled so early. Well I've read kinda decent things about the movie so I'll try watching it tonight, if not tomorrow.

Can't wait to see how Corey Taylor does in his first role~

 Oh, and also.
http://www.metacritic.com/movie/the-strangers
http://www.metacritic.com/movie/youre-next
I mean, you can remain pressed but I'm not the only one to have this opinion. In fact, You're Next recieved more positive reviews because it was really self-aware, had a great, powerful female lead, a fun twist and a certain humour.

The Strangers was panned for being boring, unimaginative, and it's NOT realistic nor can you connect with the characters. Also, it's basically an entire copy of a way superior film Ils.

wait, The Strangers is NOT realistic but You're Next is?
Not when You're Next's lead actress turns into a human killing machine, ninja turtle, super woman when **** goes down.
You're Next will always be The Strangers' inferior parody and that's the tea.

The Strangers tried to be realistic, and failed. You're Next didn't and succeeded.

And also, the "human killing machine" had a background story, you know character development which was completely missing in The Strangers, where it was explained why she knew how to do all that stuff, if you need it to be realistic.

And lemme quote myself

I loved You're Next. It had so many cliche moments/ending and an incredibly unrealistic heroine but it was fun.

Just because it was explained how she knew all that stuff does not make it realistic Its like telling me a movie about a woman flying, which shows her back-story on how she learned how to fly, is realistic.

How did The Strangers fail to be realistic? Literally EVERYTHING about that movie is as realistic as it gets. No jump scares, no loud sound effects to make you scared, nothing. Its simple, yet incredibly effective.

I'm not going to continue having this discussion with you because you are obviously a biT clueless. Your comments make no sense whatsoever. Just because you didn't like the film, you are trying to discredit everything.

 Exactly Realistic my ass.

So, in her words, The Strangers is not realistic because the female lead is a scared woman who is under attack in her own house by a masked family. The reason that movie failed? because she didn't kick their asses like the Steven Tyler daughter that she is, and failed to escape, as normal people do is similar situations.

Your logic

Flying is impossible for humans, learing survival tricks isn't. Your argument makes zero sense, learning stuff like that is completely realistic.
The two characters in The Strangers were frustratingly dumb and the movie was literally FILLED with jump scares, like
And don't call me clueless, I think it's okay that you like the movie and you should find it ok that I prefer You're Next, but you also need to accept that The Strangers was incredibly uncreative and nothing about it was new.

It's something new, I have never seen something like that in a horror movie and it was fun, meanwhile The Strangers is a copy of countless movies. You need to be open to new things and convience makes movies. If something convienent wouldn't have happened in most movies, they would've ended after a few minutes or be boring (see The Strangers).

It's unrealistic with how the characters behaved, even the masked family. I completely agree with you that it's a realistic movie per say, because there are no ghosts and stuff like that, but the behaviour was frustrating. And no, it's ok that they didn't escape, but don't discredit You're Next because she survived, because that is realistic as well.

Again, it's fine if you love The Strangers and I can even see why, but don't pan You're Next, because if you look at it from a natural perspective, You're Next brought something new to the table and The Strangers didn't. That's what I'm trying to say.

I'm done lecturing you know.
