You honestly think these girls sales come from a majority of fans only? If that were the case Gaga's Applause should have opened up with the same numbers as BTW since she has such a ~huge~ fan base.
*I'm not shading Gaga; I'm making a point that the majority of the sales for any song comes from the "general public" rather than a "large fan base".
EXACTLY what I'm saying. Rihanna is most noticeable though. Her first singles start out so slow and even with major announcements and everything.
