I couldn't hold back my laughter when listening to this crap. What made me stop being a Rihanna fan was her music becoming so generic and radio-manufactured, and then she releases this acoustic pop song with the most cliché lyrics to just seal the deal on my dissatisfaction with her. There is nothing to this song. No substance, no authenticity, nothing special at all. This is the music equivalent to the dollar menu at McDonalds.
Why did you start stanning for her? When she released Pavarotti influenced songs? I missed that barbados' limited edition

But hun the fact that you took time out of your life to even listen to her song. Mission accomplished, she sparked your interest.

I don't see how singles like "Ride", "SOS", etc., are not considered generic by you, but FFS is (?).

There was definitely some authenticity in songs like Pon De Replay and If It's Lovin' That You Want. Not a lot, but some to at least have me anticipating artistic growth of some sort. But unfortunately there hasn't been any and her music just gets more watered down and whitewashed as time goes on. There's nothing wrong with solely making music to please radio and labels, but I just never connect to music of that caliber.
I actually do like the song. I don't love it, but I love the vibe of the song, the chorus, and the bridge. It isn't Rihanna's finest musical moment, but it's interesting and kind of welcome imo.
They probably anticipated the single more than the Navy
I'm sure this is aimed at me, which is confusing because I would have to be a Rihanna fan to begin with in order to feel any disappointment or hurt about her song being trash. I'm simply expressing by opinion on the song. The funniest part about it is seeing the navy try and pretend that this is what they wanted as a first single for Rihanna's next album, when we all know they were expecting some next level sh*t.
Kii so hard @ the Hive calling this safe but haven't I seen y'all calling Bey's latest music risky and innovative lol. Like who expected Rih to release a song that features Kanye and sounds countryish....... yeah I don't think so. I expected an urban pop smash.
