It was such a nonevent. I never like to stop movies before it ends, but I was tempted to so badly. It was so hard finishing it. I can't believe there's people that believe that was the best "horror" movie of 2014.

I actually skipped a couple of scenes because it was kinda boring lol, it's so bad but the twist at the end was kinda good.

I think Annabelle was bad in the sense that it was an entire opportunity missed. It had so much potential but went nowhere. The movie should've shared the same style as the elevator scene because for what that was, it was amazing.
Watched As Above, So Below yesterday, I kinda liked it tbh. I was really scared and felt claustrophobic and scared a few times. I though it was kinda clever, had a great set-up and cool female lead.

Yep I agree, there were a couple of great scenes in Annabelle but overall the movie was just bad.

I agree, the mood of the movie was super good and I felt the ending was clever but felt a bit rushed so yeah.
Are there any other horror movies like Sinister, which has a good balance of jump scares, discomfort (if you have seen Sinister you know what I'm talking about) and 'back story' (not looking for something that's only there to scare you, like for instance 'The Strangers'). Any tips?
